Sea turtle meets ink blending

 


I still love the ink blending techniques I taught in my March class. This one uses Azure Afternoon cardstock, Pool Party, Pretty Peacock, Coastal Cabana. I just laid two strips of masking paper (AKA Post-it notes) down about 1 1/2" apart,  and blended in between, then stamped the turtles in pool party, then came back with the detail stamp to give them a pretty peacock pattern. I stamped and fussy cut one of the turtles, and then popped him up on dimensionals to give it a bit of depth.

 This sentiment, Faith, is from the new unbounded Love bundle.

Delightful Wishes Meets Country Woods

  I received a fun fold card from my Upline, Lisa Curcio, and a Workshop Hostess wanted to make that card for her workshop.  I didn't have the bundle, so I had to get creative! The original used Cheerful Daisies Bundle, but I substituted Delightful Wishes, a new Online Exclusive. The card base is Pool Party 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock, cut to 4 1/4" x 7, scored at 5 1/2".  Round all corners. Cut the Pool Party design from Country Woods DSP to 4 1/4" x 1 1/2", and round the bottom corners.  Adhere to the top flap of the Pool Party card base. Cut 2 pieces of Basic White CS, one at 4" x 5 1/4" (front) and one at 3 3/4" x 5 1/4" (insert).  The front is slightly larger to completely hide the insert. Stamp a sentiment on the front panel, off to one side.  I used 'You're simply Marvelous' from the retired Perennial Postage Stamp Set.  I just love those sentiments! Loved Beyond Measure

This is a very straightforward card using Black, White, and Basic Beige.  I love how the color block technique makes it pop.  The Layered Florals Embossing Folder looks great on Black - you wouldn't think of a floral design in black, but I think it works. Measurements: Basic Beige Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" Black 4" x 5 1/4" White 3 3/4" x 5" Basic Beige 3 1/4" x 4 1/4" Basic Black (Embossed Layer) 3" x 4" Basic White for the sentiment: 1" x 3 7/8" The sentiment is from the retired set 'Perennial Postage', but I love to mix and match sentiments, so comb through your stash to see what you have that will fit. Emboss the smaller Black panel using the Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder. Layers: Basic Beige Base, Black 4" x 5 1/4", White 3 3/4" x 5", Basic Beige 3 1/4" x 4 1/4", Embossed Black 3" x 4". Seaside Wishes in Blues

  I stamped and die cut lots of the images from the new Seaside Wishes Hybrid Embossing Bundle so I could play around with colors and layout.  The embossed background is basic beige, run through the Seaside Wishes Embossing Folder.  The blue dsp along the left edge is from Country Woods 12"x12" DSP.  I love this paper! I used Blending Brushes to add Pecan Pie & Crumb Cake to the sand dollar images on the top layer of the folder.  Then added the dies to emboss and cut at once.  The definition is really nice. The sand dollars have one dimensional in the center, then the outer edges are glued down.  I like how that adds just a bit of dimension. The sentiment is on a 2 1/4" x 3 1/4" piece of Basic White, then mounted on a 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" piece of Night of Navy. It was a lot of fun playing with this set!
