The Stampin' Professor

  Card base: 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2" Cut Basic Black cardstock to 4"x 5 1/2".   Cut Basic White Thick cardstock to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" to emboss. Heat emboss 'O Holy Night' in the lower right corner. The New Horizons DSP is amazing! Forty-eight 6x6 sheets of watercolor designs that can be abstract backgrounds, landscapes, mountains, rivers - whatever you want/need! Just add a few stamps and adapt the design to your project! I found a pin from Stamp Your Art Out with Rachel where she cut the DSP into 3x3 squares, mounted them on black, then on a white card base with just a small sentiment on the front.  I needed about 70 cards for the ladies attending the Bay Life Crop, and loved these.  She used On the Horizon , and  Grassy Grove .  However, I didn't have any of the stamp sets she used. So I got creative! I selected the papers I wanted to use, and cut them 3" x 3".  Then I went through my rather extensive collection and found images that were about the right size.  I then stamped the image in versamark on acetate (window sheets).  I could then place the acetate on each piece of DSP to determine where I wanted it on the background.  Add gold veins to stamped images easily and with just a few supplies. Stamp your image ( Artistic Impressions used here) onto Basic White Thick Cardstock .  I stamped in the opposite corners for interest. Draw thin lines of glue with Fine Tip Glue Pen .  Layer Gilding Flakes over glue lines & burnish.  Wipe away with Stampin Sponge .  Voila! You have a lovely gilded piece. I am so in love with this paper!  The gold veins running through each sheet makes this paper stunning!  Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper  lives up to its name.  To make this to fit in a #10 business envelope, cut the  Basic Black Cardstock  base  9 1/4" x 8" (folded to 4" x 9"  The Shaded Spruce strip of Expressions in Ink measures 2" x 9 1/4", and is matted with  Gold Foil Sheets  cut 2 1/4" x 9 1/4". This is adhered down the middle of the black base. The butterflies are from the set  Brilliant Wings Dies ,  which includes both detail and background dies for 6 different butterflies.  I cut the detail butterflies from  Gold Foil Sheets ,  and the backgrounds from Basic Black Cardstock. The Celebrate Sunflowers Cling Stamp Set  from Stampin' Up! has quickly become one of my favorite stamp sets of all time! It is SO versatile - from Spring through Summer & Fall, the possibilities are endless! This card uses Copper Foil Sheets , Basic Black Cardstock , Basics Embossing Powder  (including white, clear, and black embossing powders), a Heat Tool , the Sunflower Dies , and retired Subtle Embossing Folder. I started with a  Basic Black Cardstock  base (5 1/2 x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4").  The  Copper Foil  layer is cut to 5 1/4 x 4" and embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder. I stamped the large Sunflower with  Tuxedo Black Memento Ink  on  So Saffron Cardstock , die cut it with the large Sunflower die, and used a  Sponge Dauber  with  Cajun Craze  and  Crushed Curry  Ink to gently shade the flower.  I had to go over the center of the flower several times to get  nice, dark, center...
